The challenge
The original website primarily presented information — career history, credits, photographs, and background — through a traditional, dated interface with limited visual storytelling. Valuable content was trapped in an experience that no longer matched the caliber of Andy’s international work, and updating galleries meant more developer time than the photography deserved.

What I built
The new site is responsive, cinematic, and multilingual, with a custom career timeline, an immersive gallery, and a custom admin to add and edit gallery pages and images. Instead of overwhelming visitors with information, it gives Andy’s career room to breathe — and keeps the archive maintainable as the work continues.
Andy Ebert has spent decades working in live production, touring internationally with major artists and productions. His original website served as an archive of his career, but its visual design, navigation, and overall experience no longer reflected the level of his work. I designed and developed a completely new website that turns his experience, photography, and technical career into a modern digital portfolio — including a custom career credits timeline, an immersive gallery, and a custom admin area so new gallery pages and images can be added and edited without rebuilding the site.

From Legacy to Portfolio
Andy’s previous site was information-heavy and dated. The content was valuable — career history, credits, photographs, and background — but the presentation needed a refresh built around visual storytelling, motion, and simplicity.

Custom career timeline
Career credits are the spine of Andy’s story. I built a custom timeline for monitors and FOH work — year markers, artist cards, filters, and pagination — so decades of international touring read as a navigable history instead of a static list.

Custom gallery
Photography is central to Andy’s story. Rather than treating images as simple thumbnails, I built an immersive gallery experience for exploring his touring and production photography.

Custom admin — add & edit
A purpose-built gallery admin lets Andy’s team add new gallery pages, upload and arrange images, and edit existing sets without a generic CMS or a developer in the loop. Content stays current as new tours and shoots land.

English + German
Because Andy works internationally and has a strong connection to Germany, the site includes dedicated English and German experiences — consistent structure, navigation, content, and visual language across both.

Motion & Interaction
Page transitions, image reveals, hover states, and other micro-interactions make the site feel alive without distracting from Andy’s work. Animation stays intentionally subtle and professional.

Built Around the Person
Design and development covered UX, visual direction, responsive build, image optimization, content migration, timeline data, gallery admin, and production deployment — shaped around who Andy is and what he actually does, not a generic portfolio template.
